BE PART OF FONT

The submissions window is now closed for 2017.

FONT is nothing without the acts who come and share their work with us. Over the last two years we've been lucky enough to work with a collection of fantastic artists, from poets to dancers to theatre companies, bringing a range of super shows to the festival and this year we want the same amazing quality of Nottingham and East Midlands work again! This year's festival will take place from Wednesday 14th - Saturday 17th June. The submissions window is now closed for 2017.

The deal is we want you come with your work and show off the best Nottingham has to offer. All money raised from any show goes straight back to the artist. No fee to take part, no venue cost. This is all for you. We find the venue, provide basic tech, run FOH and provide some marketing support - you perform and support in these areas too.

We are ideally looking for shows that last between 30 to 80 minutes in length. These would need to be reasonably self-contained with fringe festival/rural touring suitable tech - anything that involves rigs and rakes etc. we sadly can't accommodate. We also only programme original work created by the company - be that a new play, devised show, dance piece, stand-up or poetry event. There is also potentially the option of including smaller pieces into the festival through one of our scratch-style showings such as the FONT Fest at Rough Trade event in year 1. We're also retaining the titles for the work in the programme this year, which are fittingly font themed, as Bold, Italic and Underlined - this geared toward giving audiences more information about what sort of show and its level of completeness that they may be seeing. For more on the strands, click here. This is a local festival and priority will be given to artists based in or with strong working connections to Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We cannot accept work from companies working and based outside of the East Midlands. If you are unsure on any of this, please get in touch and we can talk it over.

If you are interested please get in touch via the contact form, tell us about your show/ideas and we'll take it from there.
